The sisters of the Monastery of the Virgin Mary the Consolatory in Brownsburg-Chatham, Quebec, offer handmade wooden Orthodox crucifixes and wall crosses for the prayer corner, the home and the chapel. Each carries an icon of our Lord Jesus Christ, and most are made to hang on the wall.
Most of our crucifixes follow the three-bar design, with a short upper bar for the inscription, a main crossbar and a slanted lower footrest. Both Byzantine and Russian styles are offered. The icons include the Theotokos and Saint John the Theologian in the side medallions, Christ Not Made by Hands at the top, and Golgotha at the base.
Our wall crucifixes are about 20 cm and 30 cm tall, with a keyhole on the back for hanging. The 30 cm crucifixes come in an ornate floral design, a minimalist design and a traditional gold-accented design, and arrive in a presentation box. A Russian Orthodox crucifix with a gold metallic edge is also offered in green and gold.
