Nine days following the Dormition of the Mother of God we celebrate the leavetaking of the feast. The leavetaking of a feast is the completion of the cycle of this particular feast which we have celebrated for a period of seven to nine days. The sisters will hold a booth on the feast day of the Dormition of the Theotokos, on the site of the Church of Panagitsa (church ravaged by fire in 2015) in Montreal. They will be present on Sunday, August the 14th 2016 from 5 to 10 p.m. and on Monday, August 15th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The sisters will hold a booth at the Greek Festival which will be held in front of "Evangelismos tis Theotokou" Church at 777 St-Roch street, Montreal from Friday, August 19th to Sunday, August 21st 2016. The Festival's opening hours are on Friday, August 19th from 5 to 11 p.m. and on Saturday, August 20th and Sunday, August 21st from 12 to 11 p.m. They will carry a wide variety of their handmade items and homemade products.
On Sunday evening, August the 14th 2016, a vigil will be held in honor of the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God. The service will begin with the small compline followed by great vespers, the litany of the epitaphios of Panagia, Matins and the Divine Liturgy.
